Route description:
This cycling route was created with the idea of going on a leisurely, two-day cycling adventure through the northern part of Grobiņa county. We recommend choosing the "Godiņi Adventure Platform" as a place to stay, which is located right on the halfway point. The route will take you through all the major attractions in the region.

(18) Grobiņa castle ruins – the construction of the Grobiņa medieval castle dates back to the 13th century. Middle Ages, when Grobina Palace was first mentioned in historical sources as "hus to Grobin". It is thought that it was made of wood, because it was burned in 1263. In 1328, the castle was rebuilt. It is located next to the Grobiņa mound - it was typical in Kurzeme to build castles in the immediate vicinity of the ancient Curonian mound. The castle was an important military fortification for centuries until it lost its military importance as a result of the wars of 1795 and 1812. In the course of its life, the castle has been repaired and modernized several times. Medieval walls, 17th century, have survived to this day. the built fortification bastions and moats, as well as steep slopes.
(19) Wind Park – 33 wind generators. At that time, the largest wind generator park in the Baltics was put into operation in November 2002. The wind generators installed near the substation "Grobiņa" operate with a capacity of 600 kW each, the total height of one generator is 77 meters. The total capacity of the "Wind Park", if the wind speed reaches 13 meters per second, is 19.8 megawatts.
(20) Tašu (Telse) manor - Telsen (Telsen) manor was first mentioned in written sources in 1501. From 1641 until the 19th century in the middle, the manor belongs to the von Korfu family, during which the center of the manor was built. (22) Kapsedes manors - The very first data on the manor is from November 30, 1404. 1921/1922 In the 1990s, a six-year primary school was established in four rooms of the manor. During the Second World War, Kapsede was one of the points through which flows of refugees flowed. In 1944, the school was dissolved and a war hospital or infirmary was established there. After the war, it was rebuilt as a school. In 1983, the school moved to a new building and from that time the manor was no longer used.
(23) Kapsedes big stone - This is the highest boulder in Latvia. The tombstone is 4.3 meters high. Its circumference is 16.5 meters and its weight is 160 tons. Big stone is a protected natural object. There are legends about the stone.
(24) "Odziņu" pit stone - the stone got its name in 2008, when it was noticed, surveyed and named after the nearest houses during the expedition of the Latvian Petroglyph Center. It is notable for the fact that it was located in the immediate vicinity of the Kalnmaļi (Mātra) mound and the old town, and that holes were discovered on its surface, one hole of particularly excellent quality - 7 cm in diameter, 1.3 cm deep. The stones should have been taken under state protection as archaeological monuments, but this was not done. In 2011, it was discovered that the remarkable stone, as a result of agricultural activity, has been buried! The ancient site is ruined after such earthworks, but the stone as a witness of history was worth to be excavated. In August 2013, the Grobiņa County Council made a decision to excavate the stone and move it to a plot of land belonging to the parish.
(25) Medzes manor - Historical building (Medzes manor) with an area of 1400 sq/m with 1 ha of land is located 12 km from Liepāja, in Medze parish, next to the Liepāja-Ventspils highway. The manor building was built in the 19th century, it is located on the hill of Medze, on the territory of the former Baltic ice lake precipice. The building needs repair.
